FABRIC SUGGESTIONS - Light- to medium-weight woven fabrics such as cotton lawn, poplin, dobby, shirting, chambray, flannel, fine needlecord, washed linen, viscose (rayon).

SUPPLIES

  • Fabric (see back of envelope)

  • Matching thread

  • Sewing machine and basic tools, incl buttonhole foot

  • Iron-on interfacing (similar weight to your fabric)

    • Sizes 1-10: 0.75m (7/8yd) for hip-length version, 0.6m (5/8yd) for cropped version

    • Sizes 11-15: 1.1m (1 ¼yd) for hip-length version, 0.9m (1yd) for cropped version

  • 10-13mm (3/8-1/2in) buttons:

    • Sizes 1-6: 8 for hip-length + long sleeves, 7 for cropped length + long sleeves, 6 for hip-length + short sleeves, or 5 for cropped length + short sleeves

    • Sizes 7-15: 9 for hip-length + long sleeves, 8 for cropped length + long sleeves, 7 for hip-length + short sleeves, or 6 for cropped length + short sleeves
